As a Teaching Artist...
I specialize in working with middle and high schoolers in acting fundamentals, devised theatre, and building ensemble through play.
Pre-2020, I worked extensively as a Lead Teaching Artist with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in the Greater NYC area, guiding students and educators through the process of embodying Shakespeare's words and characters, and to help them better understanding the language and story of The Bard's plays.
While in New York City I partnered with Blue Laces Theatre Company's world premier of All Aboard, playing the role of The Conductor, playing music, and guiding audiences through this sensory aware, neurodivergent-centered, adventure through space and time.
I served as the Co-Director of Theatre Arts at Hill Country Middle School, apart of Eanes ISD, for the '22-'23 academic school year, where I directed the school's first Shakespeare production in the Bard's original words: A Midsummer Night's Dream.
And I work extensively with the Paramount Theatre's Story Wranglers, formerly as a Teaching Artist for 2 years, and now as a performer for the last 4 years, inspiring Austin area third graders to write and tell their own stories. Adventure is... out there!
I'm a former Resident Company Member of The Flea Theatre (NYC) where I was active for over 4 years, working technical sides and appearing in numerous readings, workshops, #serials, and productions. In 2020 I became an organizing member of The Fled Collective (The Fired Artists of the Flea Theater), where I acted as Secretary of the Financial Justice Subcommittee and Co-Captain of the Community Outreach Team, building industry support and helping negotiate and broker a contractual agreement for more transparent financials and a fairer compensation model for Resident artists at The Flea.
I also organize a monthly workshop series in Austin, Texas with a Theatre Arts collective called Garage Artists. Each month someone from the group volunteers to lead a workshop around a Theatre discipline, and we go along for the ride. Message me if you want to get involved!
